COVID-19 education & update for our community

A message from your care team at ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery:

The health and safety of our patients, as well as team members at our practice, remains our highest priority during the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. As there is currently no vaccine to prevent contracting the disease, the best way to avoid falling ill is to avoid human exposure as much as possible. For the most up-to-date information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about this evolving situation, please click here.

That being said, we plan on remaining open to serve our community’s medical needs. However, we do ask that patients adhere to the following guidelines when visiting our practice in order to limit the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this uncertain time.

  • We now have the ability to perform virtual visits (telemedicine) for both existing and new patients. If you are a new patient, you may meet virtually with one our physicians to discuss your concern(s). If necessary, we can then schedule you for an in-person evaluation and examination. If you are an existing patient, please consider switching your appointment to a virtual visit, unless your physician has determined it is necessary to examine you in-person. Please see the instructions for both Privia and ZocDoc for further details.

  • Only patients being seen for an appointment are allowed to be in the office unless the patient is under 18 or requires a full-time caretaker. We are asking family and friends to either wait in their vehicles or stay home.
  • Please wash your hands with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds prior to your appointment.
  • Please use provided hand sanitizer upon arriving and leaving the office.
  • Sneeze or cough into your elbow.
  • Try to keep a safe social distance (approximately 6 feet) between yourself and others.
  • Do not shake hands.
  • If you or a close family member is currently ill, please call to reschedule your appointment, if possible.
  • For our allergy shot patients, we are SUSPENDING walk-in hours, and asking that all patients call to schedule their allergy shots, in order to minimize waiting room overcrowding.
  • When you receive your allergy shot, unless it is a vial test, we ask that you please return to your vehicle to wait out the 15 minutes before coming back upstairs to have your arms checked.
  • For our surgical patients, please note that currently all hospitals and surgery centers are not allowing elective surgical cases to be scheduled until the last week of April (at the earliest). If you are interested in surgery, you may still contact us to schedule. However, please be advised that your surgery may be rescheduled with very short notice, depending on the severity of the COVID-19 situation and operating room availability. Note that this does not apply to in-office procedures.

Please reschedule your appointment and DO NOT enter the practice if you have experienced any of the following over the past 14 days:

  • You have, or recently had, flu-like symptoms, such as fever, shortness of breath, or cough.
  • You have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • You are currently awaiting the result of COVID-19 testing.
  • You have been at a large gathering or event numbering more than 10 people.
Wishing you the best of health,
Your friends at ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery
